PESHAWAR: The results of a Gilani Research Foundation survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan indicated that 59% of Pakistanis favor English language training in Madrassahs (religious schools) alongside religious subjects.In a survey, a nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces were asked the following question: “Some people believe that English language should be taught in Madrassahs (religious schools) alongside religious subjects while others say that English language should not be taught. What is your viewpoint?” The survey results show that 59% of Pakistanis hold the opinion that English language should be taught alongside religious subjects in Madrassahs, while 31% oppose the training of English language. 9% responded that they do not know and 1% gave no response.Some people believe that English language should be taught in Madrassahs (religious schools) alongside religious subjects while others say that English language should not be taught. The study was released by Gilani foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International.
