So began a lecture on art by the Karachi-based freelance artist, Moeen Faruqi, at the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVS) Wednesday afternoon.
With the aid of slides of his paintings, Faruqi explained his works and their salient features.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed the presence of poliovirus P1 in the sewage of three Pakistani cities - Karachi, Hyderabad and Peshawar.
“Laboratory analysis has confirmed that P1 poliovirus was present in the sewage of Gadap Town in Karachi, Hyderabad and University Town in Peshawar,” a WHO official said on Monday.

LAHORE - The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) will conduct a three-day training workshop to train 17 key-trainers and 225 master-trainers from all educational boards at the Directorate of Staff Development (DSD) from January 28 to 30.
According to the BISE spokesman, the training is aimed at training of 20,000 examiners and sub-examiners so that the quality of evaluation of answer-sheets in the board examinations could be improved and the students could get their right.
