PESHAWAR: The death toll from a deadly car bomb that struck the city on Sunday rose to 42, a local hospital said Monday.
The Lady Reading Hospital said 107 people were brought to the hospital for treatment with multiple injuries. They said that 49 patients with minor injuries were discharged while 58 were still being treated at the medical facility.
The government has formed a four member committee to probe the barbaric bomb strike.

Punjab government has revoked the temporary ban on the recruitment of teachers in the province and ordered the Education department to start the process of hiring of 29,822 educators in all 36 districts.
The recruitments will be started from October 20 and completed till the end of December. The new teachers will join the department in January next year. It is interesting that after 10 years, almost 2000 arts teachers will also be recruited.

Qaim justifies transfer of powers to control universities
Karachi The chief minister on Thursday defended the decision to transfer powers to control the universities in Sindh to the government from the governor, saying it was aimed at bringing a drastic improvement to the condition of the universities and the quality of education.
