Many boys high schools without a library and without playgrounds in Karachi survey

Karachi

 

About two-fifth of the 118 boys’ high school have no libraries, while a similar number of schools are without playgrounds.

 

This information was gathered in a survey conducted by the Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) in the 76 districts of the country, including 33 schools in Sindh, 51 in Punjab, 31 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two in Fata and one in Baluchistan.

PUNJAB University’s Syndicate on Thursday approved Rs 5.534 billion budget for the year 2012-13 with a deficit of Rs 1.565 billion.

Pedestrian Bridge collapses on truck; driver dies

A driver died when a pedestrian bridge collapsed on a truck at Hurbanspura on Thursday morning.

 

Initial media reports suggest that the upper part of a speeding truck hit the lower portion of the pedestrian bridge over the Ring Road at around seven in the morning. The part of the bridge collapsed on the truck, instantly killing the driver.

QUETTA: At least seven people were killed and 20 others injured in a blast at Sibi railway station Wednesday night, said Deputy Commissioner Sibi.
