A driver died when a pedestrian bridge collapsed on a truck at Hurbanspura on Thursday morning.
Initial media reports suggest that the upper part of a speeding truck hit the lower portion of the pedestrian bridge over the Ring Road at around seven in the morning. The part of the bridge collapsed on the truck, instantly killing the driver.
The incident put a question mark over the safety of such bridges and material used in their construction.
