Delhi University (DU) is conducting cluster teaching classes for students who were detained in their second year of graduation due to shortage of attendance.


As per JM Khurana, dean, students' welfare, these classes are for the students in 12 science courses under the annual mode for the academic session 2011-12 . Six different colleges of the university have been identified where these classes will be conducted. These colleges include Hindu College, Institute of Home Economics, Miranda House, Moti Lal Nehru College, Rajdhani College and SGTB Khalsa College.


"Students detained from appearing in the annual examinations 2011 are re-admitted to second year in their respective colleges. However, the cluster teaching is being conducted at the designated cluster teaching centres. Maintenance of attendance and award of internal assessment marks shall be the responsibility of the colleges designated for cluster teaching," says Khurana.


More than 100 students from various science courses are attending these classes and faculty members of these colleges are conducting it.


The designated colleges will also organise cluster teaching classes for the said courses in the academic session 2012-13 when these students get promoted to third year.
