Shandur polo festival begins world’s highest polo ground
CHITRAL: The three-day Shandur polo festival got underway Saturday at the world’s highest polo ground sited about 12,200 feet above the sea level.A large number of tourists including foreigners attended the inaugural ceremony. In the opening match of the festival, Ghizer district team from Gilgit-Baltistan defeated Laspur by 9-1 in a one-sided match.It is expected that Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf would be the chief guest on the final day of the festival.
