LAHORE: Summer Internship Programme of Rising Sun Institute (RSI) concluded here on Saturday at DHA Community Centre.
RSI CEO Dr Abdul Tawwab Khan, former Punjab governor Lt Gen Khalid Maqbool, Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Administrator Brig Rana Muhammad Aslam and special children who got gold medals in Special Olympics attended the gathering.
Students from different schools and colleges, that spent their summer vocations with special children at RSI in Summer Internship Programme, were awarded certificates.
RSI Vice President Mahmood Ahmad described the challenges faced by mentally handicapped children and narrated success stories of his institute.
Talking to Daily Times, one of the participants, Ayesha, said that she joined the programme for the certificate but the special children gave her the impression of real life. She said that she had learned a lot from these students, adding that this type of internship programmes should be conducted throughout the country. The DHA administrator expressed his support and appreciation for the RSI and announced to provide sports facilities to Rising Sun Institute.Daily Times.
