Contracts of SMI employees extended for two years

KARACHI: The Sindh government has issued a notification extending contracts of 35 employees of Sindh Madrasat-ul-Islam (SMI) College for two years. College principal Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh informed this on Friday in a meeting of faculty and staff members of the college at Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium. He said that after devolution of education department to provinces under the 18th Amendment, it was very difficult to get extension for the employees but Sindh government did it in the larger interest of the nation and the institution. He further said that financial matters of the college have been shifted to Auditor General Sindh from Auditor General Pakistan Revenues, so the employees could get their last month’s salaries.Daily Times.
