ITP visited seven education institutions

ISLAMABAD: With an objective to create self-responsibility among the road users to ensure traffic discipline in the city, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) imparted education about traffic rules among 416,135 persons during current year by visiting 64 institutions and holding informative workshops.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood monitored this overall education campaign mainly initiated by the education wing of ITP.

According to police spokesman, the education teams of ITP visited seven education institutions, 21 government organizations, seven religious seminaries and 18 non-government organizations during this year and arranged special workshops there.

Personnel of these teams mainly delivered road safety tips among participants of workshop and focused to inculcate sense of responsibility among road users. ITP also involved different organizations in its road education campaign and overall nine programs were launched through their cooperation to disseminate message about safe road environment.

In different exhibitions, six stalls were also installed by ITP here personnel of the force gave road safety tips to the visitors.

Colorful painting competitions and quiz were also arranged in the various educational institutions to promote the friendly image of the ITP force and take on board male as well as female students in the efforts for making journey safe in Islamabad. Minor Students of various schools were also called to drive bicycle in the parks at premises of ITP headquarters and educate them about road safety measures.

SSP (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood has said that these efforts would remain continue and Capital to be made accident free city through cooperation of citizens.

Police dispose of 3,571 challans in current Year: A total of 3,571 cases were disposed off after Islamabad police in the relevant courts submitted completion of investigation on them during the current year and their challans, a police spokesman said.

IGP and Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan are reviewing the progress regarding investigation on pending cases on daily basis and improvement has been made in this regard. City Zone submitted 957 challans, Saddar Zone submitted 1172, Rural Zone submitted 841 and Industrial area Zone submitted 601 cases in relevant courts during this period.

Meanwhile, 154 cases were re-submitted into courts after removing objections on them.

IGP Bani Amin Khan has categorically directed those working at police stations to complete investigation on all pending cases at earliest and submit a detailed report to him after submitting the challans of these cases into concerned courts. Following these directions, performance of all circles of Islamabad police as well police stations regarding investigation process on pending cases is being reviewed on daily basis.

Investigation on various pending cases of heinous nature of crime has been also expedited so that the criminals must be awarded punishments according to law of the land.

The IGP Islamabad has said that sluggish attitude into this matter will not be tolerated and action would be taken against those involved in dereliction of duties or delaying the investigation on cases.Daily Times.
