LAHORE: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran chaired a meeting of senior faculty members in the Al-Raazi Hall of Centre for Undergraduate Studies on Thursday. Deans of faculties, heads of departments and senior teachers attended the meeting. The participants passed a resolution unanimously condemning the firing incident at the house of the Syndicate and Disciplinary Committee member and Physics Department Chairman Prof Dr Shaukat Ali and expressed solidarity with him. A number of teachers delivered speeches during the meeting. A student, with his accomplice, from PU Law College opened fire on Prof Dr Shaukat Ali’s house on Tuesday. Dr Shaukat Ali had summoned the student to the disciplinary committee for being involved in illegal activities. The teachers of PU later held a rally in support of Prof Dr Shaukat Ali.Daily Times.
