PESHAWAR, April 24: Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chairman Dr Javaid Laghari on Tuesday called for increasing budget for the education sector to four per cent of the GDP from the existing 1.7 per cent. He added only Rs0.23 per cent of the total GDP was being spent on higher education. He said world education models were being closely examined for betterment of education system.
He expressed these views while presiding over a high-level meeting of the vice-chancellors of public sector
