Petition to make Urdu official language Lahore High Court,

LAHORE

A PETITION has been filed in the Lahore High Court, seeking direction to the government to make Urdu official language of the country.

 

A local lawyer Rana Ilamudin Ghazi filed the petition, stating that father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam during his address to students in Dhaka in 1948 had announced to make Urdu as official language of Pakistan but even after more than 62 years it was not done.

 

He said English was made the official language of the country,
