Country’s break-up alienated young generation from Urdu

The break-up of Pakistan in December 1971 rocked the moorings of our society and created a feeling of national uncertainty. People started having qualms about the continued existence of the country and thus began to give preference to the elitist Western system of education which had a global acceptance because they thought they would have to emigrate
