Southern Helmand officials fault clinics, schools built by UK

LASHKARGAH (PAN): Education and public health department officials in southern Helmand province on Wednesday rejected as inaccurate a media report regarding the closure of schools and health centres built by the UK as part of the military’s counter-insurgency strategy.
The Guardian newspaper said that Britain had spent hundreds of millions of pounds in the province over the last six years, building and restoring services destroyed by conflict and the years of Taliban rule.
