UK universities take social work education more seriously?

In Finland, where social care has higher status, students often take two degrees. Can the UK learn from their experience?

 

Despite teaching students how to protect some of the most vulnerable members of society, social work is still regarded by some universities as less prestigious than other subjects, according to Dr Martin Webber, reader in social work at the University of York.
