LAHORE, Oct 31: Eminent religious scholar and writer Begum Maryam Jameela died of heart failure here on Wednesday.
Born to a Jewish family of New York, she embraced Islam after being impressed by the writings of Maulana Abul Ala Maudoodi.
She came to Lahore in 1961 after embracing Islam and was married to a Jamaat-i-Islami member, Yousuf Khan.
Devoting her life to the propagation of Islam, she wrote 34 books on Islam, of which “Islam in Theory and Practice” and “Islam and
