The News interviewed eminent writer Dr Asif Farrukhi on the sidelines of the 5th International Urdu Conference held from December 6 to 9 at the Arts Council of Pakistan. Winner of a Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Farrukhi is a doctor, writer and translator. He has translated books from English to Urdu, and edited and compiled many anthologies of Pakistani writers. He also writes for several leading newspapers and periodicals on literature. Excerpts from the interview
