ISLAMABAD – A parliamentary panel Wednesday gave approval to reduce the tenure of Chairman of Higher Education Commission (HEC) and its governing commission members and to withdraw the status of federal minister from him through legislation.
The National Assembly Standing Committee on Education and Training in its meeting unanimously approved the proposed amendments into the HEC ordinance. The private member bill drafted by Members of National Assembly Yasmeen Rehman and Dr. Nafisa Shah
