Fistula cases in Pakistan

KARACHI : Speakers at a seminar organised by the Pakistan National Forum on Women’s Health (PNFWH) and the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) on Thursday described teenage marriages as the main cause for rise in fistula cases in Pakistan.

“Early marriage is the root cause of rise in cases of fistula in the country. It has to be discouraged to save girls whose life is being made difficult,” said PNFWH president Dr Shershah Syed while addressing the audience at the PMA House.
