Aitchison allegedly violating merit
Lahore, May 14: A number of parents of students aspiring to get admission in the historic Aitchison College Lahore have expressed their reservations over the admission procedure, terming it 'maneuvered and complicated.' According to them, some elements in the Aitchison College are giving bad name to the otherwise renowned institution by accommodating the children of influential people in violation of the merit policy.
A few parents of students informed local reporters on the condition of anonymity that some elements are minting millions of rupees from well-to-do families by ensuring admission for their children in the institution. They said that a good number of students are deliberately dropped during interviews even after they pass written test in order to entertain their 'favourite candidates.' However, sources in the college administration said that the college is implementing a recognized and standardized admission policy and it could never be compromised.
