Islamabad:As many as 150,000 beneficiaries of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) will get demand driven vocational and technical training in one year, under its ‘Waseela-e-Rozgar’ component.
Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Farzana Raja said while talking to a delegation of China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD) led by its Secretary General Xu Zhensui here today. She said that BISP has created positive economic impact in the lives of four million beneficiary families and has become the largest social sector programme in South Asia by providing monthly cash grants, interest free micro-finance, demand driven vocational and technical training along with life insurance facility to its beneficiaries.
Terming China as all weather friend of Pakistan, Farzana emphasised on enhanced cooperation in social sector between both the countries. She said the friendship between both the countries has passed all tests of the time which are needed to be enhance further in social sector.
Chinese delegation while appreciating the performance of BISP, showed keen interest in Conditional Cash Transfer for Education and vocational and technical training programme of BISP.
CFPD Secretary General Xu Zhensui said that the NGO would explore the possibilities for cooperation with BISP in the fields of health, education and technical training.The news.
