AQ Khan Institute of Biotechnology Ceremony

KARACHI: University of Karachi (KU)’s Dr AQ Khan Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (KIBGE) concluded its 11-day long comprehensive training programme on ‘Research Communication Skills’ through a certificate distribution ceremony, here on Monday.

Theme of the event was to strengthen the ability of young researchers to share results effectively with the scientific community.

Speaking on the occasion, KU Vice Chancellor Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui said that productive research and quality research publications in local and international scientific journals enabled KU to secure 223rd position in the field of natural sciences among global community of universities.

Siddiqui further said that in this highly competitive environment, thoughts and findings should be communicated effectively in an understandable manner, so that they can grab the attention of a targeted community.

Prof Kaleem Raza Khan, the focal person and Registrar-KU; Prof Dr Darakhshan Haleem, Dean Faculty of Science; Prof Dr Syed Irtifaq Ali, Director General (DG) KIBGE and Prof Dr Abid Azhar, organiser and Co-DG, also expressed their views on the importance of research communication skills in the career progression.Daily Times.
