Islami Jamaat Literary Circle holds Mushaira-e-Hamd-o-Naat

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Literary Circle organised a Hamd and Naat congregation entitled ‘Mushaira-e-Hamd-o-Naat’ here on Monday at Idara Noor-e-Haq. Senior renowned poet Ejaz Rehmani presided over the event, while Literary Circle chief Jahangir Khan discharged the responsibilities of stage secretary. Poets including Saleem Kausar, Qamar Warsi, Anwar Azmi, Aasi Sultani, Muhammad Ikram, Noor-ud-Din Noor, Majeed Mehmood, Makhmoor Aalam, Sahabzada Atiq ur Rehman and others presented their poetry in appreciation of God Almighty and Holy Prophet (PBUH). Earlier in his presidential address JI Karachi Amir Muhammad Hussain Mehnati urged poets to play their due role for a peaceful, blessed Islamic revolution in the society. He was of the view that a ceremony in which God Almighty and Holy Prophet (PBUH) are praised is the best gathering. Mehnati said that the pious personalities of the God and Prophet (PBUH) can be praised through poetry in a better manner compare to prose. The personality of Muhammad (PBUH) is praised in Namaz, Azan and Quran also, he added. Mehnati further said that Allama Iqbal’s poetry reflects the message of Holy Quran. Iqbal delivered the message of Islam through his poetry in a graceful manner and this generation’s poets should follow him.Daily Times.
