9Th Class Results Date Not Decided

LAHORE, Aug 4: The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) is yet to decide final date for the declaration of Class-IX results.

Thousands of students are anxiously waiting for the declaration of their Class-IX results and the PBCC’s indecisiveness is adding to their concerns.

Meanwhile, a number of students and their parents visited the Lahore BISE offices with various complaints. Many students also approached the board offices claiming that they were expecting higher marks, while the result was altogether different.

In such cases, BISE controller of examinations Prof Manzur-ul-Hassan Niazi said the examiners had posted the marks obtained manually but they did not fill the “bubble award” to be read by optical readers for computerised compilation of results. He said the other complaints were about ‘Result Late’ (RL) cases. He said several RL cases were cleared, which were because of non-payment of fees, after the payment of requisite fees. He said some RL cases were because of non-verification of old
posting of those candidates, who had passed their Class-IX examination from some other boards.

Stating that the board had set-up special counters for the rectification of candidates’ complaints, the controller claimed that only 53 complaints were received on the first day and were rectified. He said all prospective complaints would be rectified till
Friday (tomorrow).Dawn.
