KARACHI: Aga Khan University Medical College has invited applications for its Postgraduate Medical Education Programmes starting from January 2012.Medical graduates can apply for Internship, Residency and Fellowship respectively under the AKU Postgraduate Medical Education Programs by August 29. There is different criteria for applicants of each of the three categories.All medical graduates, including those expecting their MBBS final results by end November, 2011 are eligible to apply for internship, said an Aga Khan University official.Applications for Residency programmes are invited in the disciplines of Adult Cardiology; Anaesthesiology; Cardiothoracic Surgery; Chemical Pathology; Community Medicine; Diagnostic Radiology; Emergency Medicine; Family Medicine; Gastroenterology; General Surgery; Haematology; Histopathology; Internal Medicine; Microbiology; Neurology; Neurosurgery; Obstetrics & Gynaecology; Operative Dentistry; Ophthalmology; Orthodontics; Orthopaedic Surgery; Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery; Paediatric Surgery; Paediatrics & Child Health; Psychiatry; Pulmonary Medicine; Radiation Oncology; Urology.A candidate can apply for only one Residency programme at a time.However, there are opportunities for flexible training programmes and the details are available on website: http://www.aku.edu/ Applications for Fellowship (post-residency advanced training) have been invited for Adult Infectious Disease; Cardio-thoracic Anaesthesiology; Clinical Neurophysiology and Electrodiagnostic Medicine; Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism; Diagnostic Neuro-Imaging; Feto-Maternal Medicine; Gastrointestinal Surgery; Interventional Cardiology.F.P.
