Karachi, Aug 02: Chairman Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) Anzar Hussain Zaidi on Monday announced the result of the Science Group, Secondary School Certificate Part-II (Class-X), Annual Examinations-2011.
At least 127,425 candidates were registered and 126,556 students appeared in the exams, of which 93,545 candidates were declared passed and the pass percentage was 73.92, he said.
According to the gazette issued, 13,625 students obtained A-One grade, 23,282 candidates received A grade. As many as 27,960 students got B grade and 21,578 C grade. Meanwhile, 6,636 candidates passed with D grade, 105 students got E grade and 359 candidates passed their exams in additional subjects.
The gazette shows that 72,363 male candidates were registered and 71,866 students appeared in the exams. As many as 5,181 candidates got A-One grade, 11,416 students got A grade. Meanwhile, 15,660 candidates got B grade, 14,299 students passed with C grade and 96 candidates got E grade.
It further shows that 55,062 female students registered and 54,690 candidates appeared in the exams. Of which, 8,444 students received A-One grade, 11,866 candidates got A grade and 12,300 students B grade.
Furthermore, 7,279 candidates were passed with C grade, 1,344 female obtained D grade and nine students got E grade. Controller of Examinations BSEK Rafia Mallah told the media that the board had displayed the results of the candidates who had not submitted their required documents up till now. However, their results would remain withheld until they cleared all objections, she said.
At least 29 unfair means (UFM) cases were reported by the Governor's Special Vigilance Team whereas 45 UFM cases were reported by Overseen Committee of the BSEK and 47 UFM cases were reported by the Centre Superintendent, she further said.
The results of 11 candidates were cancelled due to submission of bogus documents while the result of 81 students was withheld due to unauthorised change of examination centre, she added.
