MB Samejo awards ceremony held

KARACHI: Sindh Culture Department and Sachhal Art Academy (SAA) jointly organised MB Samejo awards ceremony at Mumtaz Studio, here on Saturday night.

The awards were given away to male and female artists, producers and cultural reporters. Sindh Culture Department Director General Ramzan Awan was the guest of honour on the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, he shed light on the services of MB Samejo for his services in Sindhi culture. He said that the department was mulling over launching schemes for artists in regard with a colony and insurance of artists.

Awards were presented to artists Najma Kawish, Tahira Bhutto, Fatima Mangi, Sadaf Bhutto, Rasool Baksh Dahiri, Ali Raza Katpar, Ayaz Mahar, Rajan Chang and Wahid Raza. They were also presented to some media persons, including Mustafa Malah, Dodu Chandio and Mushtaq Sarki.

Audience was also entertained by the performances of folk singers Ghulam Ali Sandeelo and Ali Sammu.

Pakistan Television Karachi General Manager Mustafa Kamal Mandokhel was also given away award. Concluding the ceremony, SAA Chief Executive Officer Hussain Shaikh asked artists to respect their seniors.Daily Times.
