With a budgetary commitment of Rs3 billion having been announced, the government has decided to accord the status of a university to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), which will be renamed Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) through an Act of the Parliament.
A decision to this effect was taken at a high-level meeting convened at the Aiwan-e-Sadr Monday, with President Asif Ali Zardari in the chair. The meeting was attended
