Pakistan National Assembly passes ‘right to free and compulsory education bill’

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly on Tuesday passed “Right to Free and Compulsory Education Bill 2012”, DawnNews reported.

The bill was passed in the National Assembly’s session which was presided over by Faisal Kareem Kundi.

Free education would be provided to children from the age of five to sixteen, the bill stated.

Private educational institutions would be required to reserve 10 per cent quota for the needy students, the bill added.
