Mirza Ghalib — dominant as ever

One of the most celebrated Urdu poets, Mirza Asadullah Khan Ghalib, could not have chosen a better nom de plume than what he did, Ghalib, which means dominant, for even today his poetry remains as dominant, intriguing and unique as when he overshadowed his contemporaries in the first half of the 19th century.

 

Speakers at a KLF session, titled ‘Aaj Ka Ghalib’, found themselves in agreement as they observed that Ghalib’s poetry was still relevant
