8,000 teachers regularised Sindh Education Department

8,000 qualified teachers to be regularised Karachi Sindh Education Department on Wednesday announced to regularise at least 8,000 test-qualified teachers of the Sindh University (SU).
“As per our promises, we had regularised the test-qualified teachers of the Institute of Business Administration and now (test-qualified) teachers of Sindh University would also be regularised,” Education Minister Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq said.

The education department had discussed the matter with the delegates of the World Bank (WB) and European Union (EU) and they approved the request to regularise the test-qualified teachers of both institutions, he said.

He directed the teachers of SU to perform their duties as per rules and regulations. Because, they would be regularised on the basis of their service and WB conditions would also be applicable on the test-qualified teachers, he added.

The education minister warned the teachers to perform their professional duties rather than participating with the union organisation. The WB and EU would keep a close eye upon the test-qualified teachers so that they should be aware that their performances would be checked by the officials of WB and EU, Pir Mazhar said.

Meanwhile, the minister announced that special orders have been released for the teachers, who have been working in different media organisations. The education department should prepare a list of the teachers, who are part of the electronic or print media, he directed.

According to Pir Mazhar, stern action would be taken against such teachers and they would be sacked from service under the removal from service ordinance (RSO-2000). He asked the teachers whether to choose teaching profession or media. The education minister also asked the heads of media organisations to immediately sack the teachers working in their television channels or newspapers. The news
