Islamabad: The Social Sciences department of Bahria University organised a photography competition, says a press release issued here on Tuesday.
Bahria University Rector Vice Admiral (r) Mohammad Haroon inaugurated the competition. A large number of students of Media Sciences attended and evinced keen interest in the competition. The instructor of photography Kaleem Ahsan speaking on the occasion, acknowledged the dedication and labor of the students whose works were on display. He defined the art of photography, and explained its many diverse angles. He added that it was a highly challenging profession, and requires more than talent to achieve its many faceted goals, as this art has its reflections in all the fields of our daily life.
He summed up his brief address, by advancing the proposal of setting up of a media lab studio in the university.
This was followed by individual presentations by four highly talented students of BSS-7 namely, Saif ur Rahman Tahir, Sana Iqbal, Maheen Fareed and Nida Zafar, who took turns in explaining project assigned to each. The rector while distributing special gifts to the presenters, later in his short address was appreciative of the highly creative work done by the participants, with the hope that others would follow in their footsteps.
He endorsed the proposal of setting up of a media lab studio in the University, in
due course. In recognition of the outstanding exhibits of the presenters, he announced on behalf of the university a special cash reward of Rs5000 to each.The news
