Corps commander opens church, two schools in Layyah
MULTAN Corps Commander, Lt-General Shafqaat Ahmed inaugurated the newly-rehabilitated flood-hit church, Boys Mission High School and Girls Mission High School in Layyah here on Monday.
While addressing a ceremony on this occasion, Lt-General Shafqaat Ahmed said that floods had caused immense destruction in the district along with other districts of south Punjab. He said that the ferocious flood damaged 700 schools in the region.
He added that Pakistan Army had rehabilitated 692 schools, 100 basic health units, mosques and churches in the region. The Pakistan Army extended more facilities including library, laboratories and playground in some schools of the region. He said that Army teams repaired 100-kilometre railway track and added the second phase of rehabilitation work was in progress with rapid pace.The news
