course on Testing and Evaluation was organized by Higher Education Commission’s English Language Teaching Reforms

HEC holds course on testing, evaluation for college faculty
KARACHI (PPI): The first one-month course on Testing and Evaluation was organized by Higher Education Commission’s English Language Teaching Reforms (ELTR) project under its Phase-II at Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam. Twenty two college teachers of nearby areas attended the course. The main objective of the course was to enable teachers to understand the goals, concepts, principles and concerns of language testing, assessment and evaluation. It provided teachers an opportunity to design and construct useful language tests for assessment and evaluation. It also focused to align assessment procedures to the learning objectives of the new English curriculum for the four-year undergraduate program and two-year master’s program, train faculty to develop and adapt materials for assessing the four language skills and language/literature based text materials and, most importantly, create innovative assessment strategies for testing of teaching/ learning package and evaluation tools.The resource persons were eminent scholars in the field of Testing and Assessment, including Dr. Aijaz Khooharo, Dr. Fateh Mohammad Soomro and Prof. Qalandar Shah.
