FSc annual examination extra time to ex-DD Colleges niece

Allowing extra time to ex-DD Colleges' niece
Female candidates appearing in the FSc annual examination staged a demonstration against the superintendent for giving extra 20 minutes to a relative of former Deputy Director Colleges Sheikh Zahid.

The protesting candidates said that Surraya Shirazi, superintendent at Government Degree College for Women Centre-A, had given extra 20 minutes to Sheeza Rauf, niece of former Deputy Director Colleges Sheikh Zahid. They alleged that Sheeza's father Sheikh Rauf Ahmed was a friend of Lahore BISE Secretary Tahir Mushtaq. They also alleged that Superintendent Surraya Shirazi was the neighbour of former DD Colleges Sheikh Zahid and she was appointed the superintendent on his recommendation. They said that the centre staff had snatched their papers five minutes before the stipulated time.

They also chanted slogans against the examination staff. They demanded Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the education secretary and the DCO look into the matter and take action against the superintendent and other staff for favouring a candidate. Later on the assurance of Deputy Director Prof Zafarullah Bhatti that action would be taken against responsible people, the candidates dispersed. The news
