Interactive workshops held at Beaconhouse

Interactive workshops held at Beaconhouse
Islamabad: Eighteen Beaconhouse campuses hosted the Beaconhouse Little Leaders Interactive Workshops for Parents - a free learning activity for families on early years Education.

The first facility and service of its kind drew in crowds of parents and toddlers at the Beaconhouse branches in F-10/4, Civil Lines, Westridge, Satellite Town, Jhelum and Peshawar in the Northern Region.

The popular workshops being held simultaneously in all campuses included sessions on: 'How to Raise a Leader', 'Parenting for Today: Raising Tomorrow's Leaders', 'How to Raise a Reader', 'How Your Child Can Love Math', 'How Your Child Can Learn Through Play' and 'How to Use Technology With Your Child'. All workshops included hands-on activities, question-and-answer sessions and were fully interactive. While parents were busy in workshops their toddlers and children were caught up in the range of activities that included working on art and craft, pottery making, puppetry, story telling, sports, jumping castle, trampolines, games and enjoyed refreshments.

The workshops familiarised parents with simple strategies that they can use at home with their children. Put together and consistently practised, these strategies will help develop a strong sense of leadership and responsibility in young ones. These workshops are designed to help parents align parenting style with the latest research in education and child development; to help parents in developing the core skills like leadership in their children in a world that has become increasingly competitive.

The workshops were conducted by trained personnel and were so popular that the sessions had to be repeated as parents kept waiting due to the seats being full to capacity. Large screens also relayed live the activity in all workshop rooms to waiting crowds sitting outside. Waiting parents enjoyed the exhibited student artwork and educational displays and joined their children in many activities including martial arts, gymnastics, music choir and puppet theatre. The most popular activity which drew in parents as well as children was pottery making. Beaconhouse alumni also met parents and addressed the crowds to answer queries. Delighted parents included parents who themselves are Beaconhouse alumni.
