LAHORE:THE Lahore High Court on Tuesday allowed the unsuccessful MBBS students to appear in the supplementary examination and directed the University of Health Sciences (UHS) to entertain their forms on regular fees.
Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed also linked the declaration of their results with the final decision of a petition filed by 91 students/petitioners who were earlier allowed by the court to participate in the annual examination but their results had not been announced.
Petitioners, including Sadia Waheed and others, pleaded that their result might be declared so that the possibility of their taking supplementary examinations could be considered.
UHS Counsel Rassal Hassan Syed told the court that the results of the petitioners were available in a sealed envelope and he unsealed the same before the court. According to the results, some petitioners had failed.
Counsel said the failed petitioners were entitled to sit in the supplementary examinations but the last date for filing forms was May 9.
He said their forms could be entertained till May 16 with double fees.
The judge, however, directed the counsel to ensure submission of petitioners’ forms with regular fees, treating their case under special circumstances.
Justice Saeed adjourned the hearing on the petition till June 8 and ordered that the results of the petitioners would be subject to final decision of the court.
