Karachi:A reiki expert has set up what he called country’s first Institute of Alternative Medicine having 150 MBBS medico disciples of the Usui and Karuna Master.
“The aim of this institute is to create an awareness on alternative medicine, standardized the teaching and training besides organizing all of its practitioners,” Abdul Haseeb Khan, a graduate in mind sciences and trained practitioner of neuro-linguistic programming, said. “Reiki offers unbelievable relief to all kind of suffering as can be used to great advantage in relieving people from stress, tension and anxiety to contribute greatly towards improving the quality of life,” Khan stated.
“Medical science has proved that 70 to 80 per cent disorders are related to tension and stress,” he maintained while delivering a lecture on Tuesday.
“Reiki relieves you of stressful situations of any nature and reduces extreme of life.”
Khan observed that Reiki being safe method of healing could be combined with any other treatment such as allopathy, homeopathy, reflexology and acupuncture. He said that the National Institute of Health in USA had initiated research on alternative medicine and Reiki would soon be recognized as a valid form of therapy.
Khan said that Reiki had proved helpful in relaxing mind, which if not relaxed might cause disease both at mental and physical levels. He observed that “Strain is physical while stress is mental and depression is psychological disorder. People succumbing to these problems become ill at all levels.”
Khan said that the need of an inexpensive and free of side effects treatment to could be justified in the wake of an indiscriminate use of various chemicals had caused serious threat to the human life. “Since medical scince offers expensive treatment and medicines with lots of side effects, the search ushered a new era of alternative medicine.”
