Students’ artworks put on display

RAWALPINDI, July 26: The students of the Bachelors of Computer Arts (BCA) of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU)) put their artworks on display at the new academic block of the university on Monday.

FJWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Samina Amin Qadir inaugurated the exhibition which is a magnificent show of creativity, innovation and professional approach of the students.

The display featuring the artworks in the areas of photography, computer graphic, oil painting, visual art, calligraphy, textile, video installation with performance, documentary production, desktop publishing and printing, campaign development and graphic designing provided an opportunity to the young and aspiring artists to exhibit their immense talent.

The art work done in the fields of oil painting, visual art and textile is the significant feature of the show.

The students designed cushions, tablecloth, napkins, tissue boxes, bed sheets, rugs, wall hangings, shawls, dresses, shoes and mobile phone covers etc in an innovative manner.

In the field of computer graphic, many students created their portraits and in the field of animation, the students made different cartoon documentaries.

A large number of art lovers visited the exhibition and appreciated the innovative skills of the students.

While talking at the inaugural ceremony, FJWU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Samina Amin Qadir applauded the efforts of the students and said, “The efforts of the students are remarkable and their work is worth watching.”

She also appreciated the efforts of the BCA faculty with a special mention to Ms Fareena Iqbal, Head of BCA Department in making the event a success.

The jury members included Javaid Qazi, Rahat Saeed, Lubna Yasmeen, Mehr Bano and Ambreen Afzal.Dawn.
