Almost half of Wales’ schools will need extra support and monitoring to ensure acceptable standards, the nation’s chief inspector warns today.
Ann Keane believes variation in standards of teaching and learning are a major area of weakness in Wales’ schools system.
In her second annual report as chief inspector of education and training in Wales, Ms Keane says deficiencies in literacy and numeracy remain a concern across the board.
