The Punjab Sports Festival had begun this past week to promote talent at “the grass-root level”. The competitions in athletics, badminton, cricket (hard-ball and tape-ball), football, hockey, volleyball, and kabbadi are part of the event. In Lahore, 150 union councils are holding the competitions in the first phase, with the general public participating.
