The 3-day Festival of Lights (Mela Chiraghan) began here Saturday at the shrine of Hazrat Shah Hussain, marking his 424th Urs which is considered one of the biggest festivals of the province.
The shrine of the 16th century Punjabi poet and saint in Baghbanpura near the Shalimar Gardens wore a festive look as thousands of devotees began pouring in from all over the province to mark the birthday of the Sufi poet known as the pioneer of Kafi in Punjabi poetry.
