Karachi
The Irish author, James Joyce, once said that an artist earned nothing; he just offered his art to his audience and, at last, left nothing but a lasting legacy. If we are to judge the significance of Mehdi Hasan, the 84-year-old ghazal maestro who died of old age on Wednesday, he aptly fits the bill.
Hasan died silently in his hospital bed, and lived in a dilapidated house at Ancholi in Gulberg Town, Karachi.
Condolence messages poured in from all
