The Syndicate of the University of Karachi at a meeting decided to exempt all those candidates applying for permenant faculty positions at the university who had had PhD degress from appearing in the written tests to be conducted by the National Testing Service as part of the selection process. Such candidates would directly appear before the selection board.
All other candidates, however, would have to appear in the said test.
