Time to develop national voluntary blood donation

It is about time Pakistan develops a national voluntary blood donation programme for recruitment and retention of donors. About 98 per cent of all blood donations in the country are from family donors who give blood as replacement to the one transfused to their relatives or friends. This situation needs to be changed.
