Education: a ray of hope for Machar Colony

For most inhabitants of Machar Colony, one of the largest squatter settlements in the city, the day starts with an early morning visit to the local ‘Vara’, a place where the fisheries dump containers of shrimps.

 

With unemployment plaguing their community, peeling shrimps is the only way to make an income for many families residing in the colony.
