A renowned writer and author of several Urdu books and short stories, Hajra Masroor, passed away on Saturday morning in Karachi. She was 82.
Masroor had been advocating social, political, legal, and economic rights of women. She had also received several awards, including the Pride of Performance Award for best writer in 1995, Nigar Award for best script writer and Aalmi Frogh-e-Urdu Adab Award.
She was born on January 17, 1930 in Lucknow, India,
