Da’wah Academy awards certificates to position-holders Islamabad: A ceremony to confer shields and certificates of merit to position-holders of different Islamic correspondence courses of Da’wah Academy, International Islamic University (IIU), was held at the IIU Faisal Mosque Campus.

Addressing the participants, IIU Rector Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik congratulated the position-holders. He said, “We should follow the teachings of Islam to cope with the current challenges faced by the Ummah.” He stressed the need to understand real message of Qur’aan under the supreme guidance of our Holy Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him).

Da’wah Academy Director General Professor Dr. Sahibzada Sajid-ur-Rehman said that this is the first time that the academy is awarding certificates to the participants of Islamic correspondence courses at a ceremony. He said that since establishment of the Da’wah Academy in 1985 these correspondence courses have been started. Around 70,000 males and females from across the country have so far been registered in these courses and more than 39,000 have successfully completed their courses, he said.

The in-charge of Department of Islamic Correspondence Courses at Da’wah Academy, Maulana Misbah-ur-Rehman Yousafi, presented a report about the activities and achievements of the department.

Syed Zafar Shah, the representative of participants of Islamic Correspondence Courses, announced to give Rs10,000 to two workers of the Department of Islamic Correspondence Courses.

Later, the rector conferred certificates of merit and honorary shields to the position-holders including Sajida Manzoor, Aysha Ambreen, Saira Salam, Muhammad Ilyas, Zubaira Karima, Abrar Ahmad Qureshi, Tariq Saeed, Muhammad Nouman, Nafeesa Akram Awan and Raja Imran Yousaf.

The officials of the department — Muhammad Usman Bhatti, Muhammad Farooq Rao and Muhammad Gulzar Awan — were also given honorary shields for their good performance.The news
