closed down University of Education, Township Campus indefinite period

LAHORE – Authorities on Monday closed down University of Education, Township Campus for an indefinite period, following the activists of Islami Jamiat Talba attacked Insaaf Students Federation, triggering a clash, which left over a dozen students injured. The police have arrested more than 40 activists of the IJT but no case was registered till late Monday night.
Eyewitness said that the students of ISF set up membership stall at the campus and were busy in registration of students when more than 400 activists of IJT appeared and attacked the ISF students. Police sources said that the University of Education situated at College Road is facing worst mismanagement as no vice-chancellor is currently posted there.
Panic gripped the entire campus while the girl students ran towards safer places, shortly after the IJT activists attacked the ISF students. The IJT activists badly thrashed, punched, and kicked the ISF students, leaving many of them injured.
Meanwhile, police contingent also reached the spot and arrested dozens of students and activists of IJT. The police also managed to disperse the students from the campus while the authorities have closed down the campus for an indefinite period. Further investigations were underway.
Meanwhile, some three unidentified accused shot injured a eunuch at Fazal Park located in Shahdara Police precincts on Monday. The injured was identified as Deeba, a resident of Fazal Park, in Chowki Begum Kot Area. As per details, Deeba was at his home located in Fazal Park, when three armed men, equipped with weapons forced their entry into the house of eunuch and tried to loot valuables over which Deeba offered resistance resultantly intruders opened fires due to which the eunuch received two bullets injuries while intruders escaped without looting valuables from the house. Some locals after hearing the bullet shots gathered at crime scene and they with the help of rescue officials rushed injured Deeba to the Mayo Hospital where the doctors stated the condition of eunuch was out of danger.
